ICON has been around since 1977 when Gary Stevenson and Scott Watterson founded their first company, Weslo, Inc. At the time, the duo were business majors at Utah State University and were looking for a way to fund their college experience. Weslo, Inc. started as a tableware and kitchenware importer, bringing products from the Far East to the United States. Two years later, the company purchased the rights to a wood burning stove which they marketed to the energy conservers of the nation at the time. Their intelligent business moves allowed their company to prosper and gave them their chance at entering the exercise equipment industry.

ICON Health & Fitness, focused mainly on the individual exercising experience, has several training facilities for world-class athletes. The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team has a center made just for them as does the San Francisco 49ers and the Sydney football club. ICON also has training facilities for the French Open, the U.S. Open, UFC gyms and several collegiate sports teams. The U.S. Olympic team has a training center designed especially for them, thanks to ICON. The products under the ICON umbrella have been seen all over the media. Across the Internet, on the television and in magazines, ICON products are most certainly well-known. The 600 MX Treadmill is a commercial-grade treadmill that can be used in a home or in a gym. EPIC designed the 600 MX with a 2.5-horsepower motor, created especially for their treadmills. The motor comes with a 12-year warranty and the treadmill itself can bear up to 325 pounds safely. Cushioning built into the running deck allows users to run or walk comfortably, no matter the severity of their workout. Speed and incline are controlled with the click of just one button. This treadmill can reach speeds of up to 12 miles per hour and inclines of 12 percent. Epic treadmills offer good value at a moderate price. They feature the bells and whistles of more expensive models, and any compromises are not evident to most users. If you do purchase an Epic, be sure to get an extended warranty.
