Landice RTMs stand out from other Landice treadmills. Whereas most Landices are sold with four different console options, the RTMs have only a Rehabilitation Console. This console features a zero mph starting speed, a button for track bidirectionality, and an incline control. The L870, one of Landice’s newest machines, is a top choice among physical therapy centers and personal trainers. The L870 RTM is an upgrade to the L770 RTM: it has an even higher weight capacity and a longer track. Like other treadmills from Landice, it features a rust-proof frame, a heavy duty motor, and a softer-than-grass shock absorption system. Safety features include a stop key and medical handrails.

What We Like

  • Rehab-Specific Console – Landice’s RTM console is designed for the versatility needed in physical therapy settings. It supports a starting speed of zero mph and can be used to elevate the track up to 15%. However, unlike other Landice 870 treadmill consoles, it doesn’t include preset programs.
  • High Quality Treadbelt – The Landice L870 Club Treadmill has a 22”x63” treadbelt to let virtually any runner reach a full stride. The belt is made to endure: with four layers and large rollers, it’s maintenance-free even with heavy use.
  • Incline – The track can incline 15% to provide more challenging workouts.
  • Powerful Motors – This model houses an American-made 3.0 HP (4.0 CHP) motor. The motor supports a high speed of 11 mph and can operate at top speed for 15 minutes without overheating. Additionally, the L870 RTM also has a powerful secondary motor for the incline. With 1,000 pounds of thrust, it provides smooth elevation and declination even at top speeds.
  • High Capacity – The Landice L870 RTM Treadmill has a 500-pound user capacity.
  • Excellent Warranty – Commercial and residential owners of this cardio trainer get a five-year warranty on the frame, motor, and other parts plus one year of labor.

What We Don’t Like
Rehab treadmills are appropriate for a number of settings, but treadmills in other categories – home, commercial, and light commercial – almost invariably have more interesting programming.

Our Verdict
The L870 RTM Treadmill is a very well-made fitness machine that can physically challenge a wide range of trainees. It’s great for what it is – a rehab machine – but would leave members of a commercial gym disappointed. It has very simple workout modes and lacks engaging programming. The Landice L870 RTM Treadmill is a fine choice for commercial settings that have “big and tall” users. Other customers might find that the L770 RTM, a smaller machine, is a better buy.
