The FreeMotion Fitness 730 is the simplest treadmill in FreeMotion’s current lineup. A sensible price is paired with good quality: You’ll get a 58″ track with 15% incline, a quiet 3.0 HP motor, 30 preset workout apps and an iPod-compatible sound system. Two optional add-ons are a wireless chest strap and iFit’s wireless interactive workout technology. If you crave more of a “2014 treadmill,” check out the 790 instead. It’s loaded with a 10-inch Internet screen, an HDTV and even more workouts than the FreeMotion 730.

- Motor: The 730 has a 3.0 HP motor. It’s powerful enough to let you switch speeds without skipping a beat. It’s also very quiet and has a lifetime warranty.
- Incline: FreeMotion treadmill decks incline up to 15%. Why tilt when you walk or run? Incline training relieves pressure thatās normally placed on your knees. It also enhances your heart rate response and muscle recruitment. Incline training helps you look and feel better, faster!
- Wireless heartrate-ready: Exercise at your optimal pace with insights from your heart rate monitor. Grip pulse monitors are included, but for better accuracy you can invest in a PolarĀ® wireless chest strap. Your heart-rate will be included in the treadmillās constant data stream.
- Workouts: Thirty workout apps are included! This means that even without adding iFit, you can get enough variety to keep treadmill training interesting. Each FreeMotion app has a preset speed, time, distance and incline combination.
- Audio: A set of 2ā speakers lets you stream MP3s during workouts.
- Console: The 730ās console isnāt fancy, but it looks good and does what it should. Crisp green LED readouts show multiple data streams: speed, incline, time, distance, pulse and calories.
- Warranty: The FreeMotion Fitness 730 treadmill warranty includes a lifetime guarantee on the motor and frame, three years on parts and one year of service. Thatās average to above-average for the home treadmill industry.
- Folding: A patented EasyLift system makes space-saving simple. Fold the treadmill vertically to free up floor space!
What We Donāt Like:
- Track: Thereās nothing wrong with this treadmillās track, but thereās nothing special about it either. It measures 58″ x 20″, so itās long enough for most but not all runners. Itās two-ply for durability. Freemotion’s more expensive treadmills have 60ā tracks that are cushier for more joint protection.
Our Verdict:
Good value here! The FreeMotion Fitness 730 Treadmill is a smart enough buy to make your short list. It’s large enough and powerful enough for runners, yet it can be folded when you want more floor space. It gives ample workout variety and is iFit-ready in case you’re attacked by winter exercise doldrums. The 730 is a good bargain for just about any walker or runner weighing 325 pounds or less. If you want more luxury or capacity though, look to the 790. For under $2,000 you’ll get a bouncier track, even more workout apps, an Android browser and a color TV.
